The 1896 Pond is a failry common coin being one of the higest mintages. However it is still difficult finding a UNC coin.
1896 Pond Forgeries
There does not seem to be a problem with forgeries. However there are many Imitations/Tokens 1896 Pond. These are manufactured in brass and I have included a few pictures below so you can see how crude the Tokens are.
