1892 ZAR Crown Single Shaft Silver
Also known as: 1892 5 Shilling, South African Five Shilling, South Africa 5/– Single Shaft Crown.
The 1892 Single Shaft Crown is the corrected version of the ZAR crown design, featuring the accurate single shaft (disselboom) on the Voortrekker wagon. This coin had a relatively higher mintage compared to the Double Shaft version, yet high-grade examples remain difficult to find.
Although not issued in proof, it remains a sought-after coin for collectors interested in early South African numismatics, especially when found in mint state.
